The region in short

Gaspé is a Canadian peninsula in southeast Quebec. The name “Gaspé” comes from the Mi’kmaq word “gespeg,” meaning “Land’s End.” Gaspé is made up of five sectors: Côte, Haute-Gaspésie, Pointe, Baie-des-Chaleurs and the Vallée.

You can buy a property in the Gaspé region’s cities and towns, and Via Capitale offers many choices. When you buy a property in the Gaspé region through a Via Capitale broker, the Via Capitale broker will offer you the benefits of the Via Capitale protections program. This protection for mortgage payments, plumbing, electricity and heating are reassuring when you settle in a new home.

The Gaspé economy rests mainly on fishing, forestry and agriculture. Climatic changes and overuse of natural resources has incited the region to develop new industries. It now has pharmaceutical industries, naval shipyards and wood processing plants.

As nature is omnipresent in Gaspé, the territory abounds in parks and natural reserves. Gaspé parks are home to 25 of Quebec’s highest mountain peaks. These vast natural expanses are great for hiking, downhill, cross-country and telemark skiing, snowshoeing and snowmobiling.

Gaspé is a popular tourist destination with visitors from around the world. Art galleries, art studios and craft boutiques delight all art lovers.
