Testimonials from our clients
“In fall 2010, I succeeded in buying my first condo. I was so proud of being a single owner at age 34. But the following April the heat pump gave out. Not knowing anything about heat pumps, I panicked a bit. Then I remembered Homebuyer Protection. I found the info in a drawer and dialled 1 877 491-2433. The problem was solved in 24 hours and the Protection covered the cost. Thanks to Homebuyer Protection I came out ok from this first misadventure as a homeowner. If I ever buy again, I’m going to make sure I have the same protection.”

“Our family outgrew our bungalow and we sold it through a broker that my husband knew at Via Capitale. Life is full of surprises. The buyer who made the offer, Jean-François, was a childhood friend; it made it easier for us to leave our home. After he got settled in, Jean-François phoned us. He was uncomfortable telling us that the furnace was no longer working, which made us uncomfortable as well. But my husband remembered that the broker had spoken to him about Protection for this very thing. Jean-François called Via Capitale and the problem was settled, making everyone happy. Buy without protection like this? I wouldn’t think of it!”

“We just got married and we were dreaming of buying a house. To become owners, we used an HBP to complete our down payment. My spouse Jonathan had a good job in the pharmaceutical field and I was an administrative assistant in a legal firm downtown. We’re doing alright. Actually I should say we “were” doing alright, because Jonathan lost his job when his employer had to lay off a lot of staff. We were worried. There was no way we would be able to make the monthly mortgage payments with a single income. Jonathan thought of Mortgage Protection… maybe we were covered for this. He phoned and we were eligible for it.
Four months later, Jonathan found an even better paying job than before. The Mortgage Protection reimbursements allowed him to take his time to look for a job and be more selective in terms of employers. Thank you Mortgage Protection and thank you Via Capitale.”Lucie B., Montreal
“If you’re in the market for a house, take my advice and make sure you have protection.
We bought a house in the country for our retirement. But we still have a good ten years left to work, so we keep a house in the city. I’m a dental technician and Pierre is a nurse. We’re not rich, but we do alright and we will have a planned retirement. Everything was great until our dreams started turning into nightmares one weekend. The clinic where I work told me at the end of the day on Friday that my position was abolished due to a major restructuring. We got up Saturday morning to find two inches of water in the basement: the submersible pump didn’t work and the water spilled over. On top of that, no more hot water. The hot water tank broke on the same weekend.
I was almost happy to not go to work on Monday morning; I had to take care of the insurance, repairs, etc. But the good news is that we bought through a Via Capitale broker who lauded the benefits of his Protections. I called and received good news: the submersible pump and tank were covered by Homebuyer Protection and I was eligible for Mortgage Protection, which reimbursed part of the mortgage until I found another job.
All that was left to do was call the insurance company for the damages caused by the water; it was a good day: no problem, the company would pay for the cleanup.
I ended up spending the week at home managing the repairs. On Friday morning I received a call from my former employer. He told me that he was going into a partnership with another clinic and that he would hire me back as soon as was settled.
Summary: a weekend of nightmares, a week of coordination, a refurbished basement and a new job closer to home.
Thank you, thank you, thank you Via Capitale!”Claire D., Trois-Rivières
“After the children left, my wife and I decided to sell the family home and move into a modern condo, close to everything.
We had already finished paying for the house and we distributed the amount from the sale between investments and a down payment on the condo. We were both working, so there was no problem; we both had regular incomes until the day that Claire, my wife, was let go after 15 years of work: the company was closing. Our budget was based on two incomes, which made things a little complicated. But Claire heard the Via Capitale ad on TV and remembered that our broker had talked about it. She phoned and was told that her share of the mortgage payments were covered for one year or until she found another job. Claire felt secure and enrolled in a professional training course that she had been interested in for some time, but could never seem to find the time for. In the end, she found a better paying job. In our case, Mortgage Protection definately had a positive impact!”
“Last spring we bought a nice house in Saint-Eustache through a Via Capitale broker. It had everything we wanted: the bedrooms, the yard, a pool and even an air conditioning unit, which comes in very handy in summer when it’s really hot.
We were really happy to be able to count on Homebuyer Protection when the unit broke down in July. Everything was back to normal very quickly. To us, it was proof that we could count on our broker, even after the transaction was over. I would still gladly recommend a Via Capitale broker!”Yves C. et Ginette L., Saint-Eustache
“Buying a property is a good thing, but it does involve its fair share of stress. I was really happy when I bought my condo, even though I would have to be careful with my money at first. That’s why I panicked when I was laid off from my job… Then I remembered that my broker had talked to me about Mortgage Protection in case of loss of employment. Thanks to Mortgage Protection I still own my condo today. I could have never kept my condo without it and that’s why I thank my Via Capitale broker once again!”

“Claude and Robert told us how happy they were to be able to count on Homebuyer Protection when both their dishwasher and freezer broke down within the first year after they bought their condo in Montreal. They were really glad that they did business with a Via Capitale broker.”

“A real estate broker is someone who helps us find our dream home. To us, a “good” real estate broker is someone who answers our call when the transaction is completed. A “very good” broker is someone who does even more, like offer us Mortgage Protection and Homebuyer Protection. And since we benefited from both types of protection, they were two good reasons to do business with our Via Capitale broker, who we still recommend to all our friends.”

“I would like to say many thanks to our broker. He was there for us when the central vacuum that was included in the purchase of our house broke down last summer. Sometimes the biggest problems come from the smallest details. And sometimes it’s attention to the smallest detail that make us most thankful!”
